The Deed Is Done

Mood: Elated and rejoiced
Listening to: Nothing at the moment… Except for the song in my heart… ~~~~~~

Jan finally had his surgery today…
And it was nothing serious.. It was a tallow (?) gland gone nuts… He had the appointment at 1pm… but while we were there waiting for him he found out that it was postponed… till around 2pm… so he told us to go home, us being Espen and I… Espen got his license now.. and so we did… and on the way home we decided we’d drive back around 6pm… if he had his surgery around 2pm and would have to wait for three hours post surgery… and then get food etc… well, you do the math…
But my darling boyfriend, the love of my life and my better half called me a little past 5pm… well.. it was closer to 6pm, actually… and told me to come pick him up… When we did he said that the surgery had been postponed even more… he was operated on around 4pm… But post surgery the nurse said he looked so well and stuff so he was ok to go home…
I’m just happy he’s alive. I was worried… not overly worried, but worried… Never know what can happen… But he seems just fine… Kinda handicaped now tho.. with his left hand, the hand he usually uses.. yes, he’s a lefty… all bandaged up…
So yes…. I’ll probably not sleep tonight either, but you know how it is…

Good to have you home, love <3

Lene

Oh bother…

Mood: relaxed and happy
Listening to: hard to say…. people talking on TV.. I couldn’t say what they are talking about, I’m not paying attention… Well, NOW I am… They are talking about medical ointments, aids etc. in the olden days… like 100 a.d.

So yeah…
I thought it was about time I wrote a little in my blog.
I know I’m not nearly as diligent as  should be.

So… anyways….
I bought Panko (bread crumbs… japanese…) ages ago, and I finally made something with it… First I tried to make an easy chicken parmesan… without parmesan.. with mozzarella… So yeah… I won’t make that again, I think… I don’t think the chicken worked well with the pasta sauce I used…
However… today I made “chicken nuggets” and had rice and sweet chilli sauce on the side… and it was DELICIOUS!!!! I am SO making that again…
Yes, I know I should have taken pictures, but my camera is out of power…
Next time, eh?

In other news…
I applied for a job on monday… It’s the same thing as before, basically.. only it surely doesn’t have the lovely ladies I used to work with… but for a 40% position I’ll live… and I need the money…
I called my former boss and told her that she might get a call… If not then… oh well… I can still get a job where I used to work.. hopefully THIS year before christmas…

Oh… and the world will end, according to Nostredamus, in 2012…
I hope it’ll be fast… I don’t know if I want to live after the world ends…

OH, and I heard today that one is less likely to get preggers if you ear crisps, kebabs and drink coke… *drinks coke and eats kebab sprinkled with crisps*
What a load of crock!!! <.<
(No, I’m not preggers… nor do I want to be…)

I still go to the movie site and enjoy movies..
Goliath has been very good with us… Well, apart ffrom one VERY long western.
It’s not that I HATE westerns…. I like “For a few more dollars”, “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” and “Eldorado”
Granted… Eldorado is kinda like a western chickflick.. kinda… seeing as there is a strong gunslinging woman in it…
But he, Goliath, did save face with “The 7th Voyage of Simbad”. You might not like that kind of movie, but I REALLY like those old movies with the old special effects. They really did well.
AND he has told us that he will show us The Abyss, directos cut!!!! AMAZING!!! I am SO looking forward to it… I have seen it before, and it makes a whole world of difference, the whole movie… True, the cutting done on the movie is very good… it’s a smaller story cut… so to speak… if you’ve seen it you know what I’m talking about….
If not then surely you haven’t lived..
But yeah… I REALLY love the movie site… I know it’s not mine, as I own it, but I’ve been there for so long I kinda feel ownership, kinda… ya know?

And furthermore… It’s starting to get really dark outside…
Like woah…. autumn… bigtime. BUT.. during the day its been warm so I’ve been sweating like a pig… Today I was smart, tho…
I turned on the ceiling fan and opened the door… and now I’m actually kinda freezing… XD…

Anyways…
I’ll get back to you later…

Lene

P.S: As far as we know Jan is still scheduelled for the surgery on monday.
I still haven’t decided yet if I want to go with him or not.
I think I’ll decide on monday…

I can haz music nao =D

Mood: GREAT!!! XD
Listening to: Lost – Erlend Cratland… oh, hell no… too depressing…
Ugh.. I seem to only have depressing songs… Nelly Furtado – All good things come to an end…

But then again I do love this song…
I saw a really beautiful video thingie on youtube where they had this song and the fourth Doctor and Romana… And the one who made it made it look like she died and stuff… It’s really touching… even though I know better now..
I hadn’t seen the episode where she stays in E-Space with K-9… so I really thought she died.. which would be really upsetting.. AND I had forgotten everything I had read about Romana and her adventures with K-9…
It’s all really easy to forget when you have no brain XD
Speaking of youtube. I’ve been busy today ^_^
I’ve finally figured out a way to download the music and not the video without using a crappy mic…
Thanks to the website I used I now have the new 2008 Dr Who Theme, an Ultimate collection of all the Dr Who Themes including the movie in the 80’s, and ZOMG! YATTA!!!! I HAVEN’T HEARD THAT IN AGES XD SCORE!!!
Oh yeah…. and a Dr Who theme thingie from a band called Orbit or something like that. Really good stuff…
So now I’m all happy ^_^

So.. what else is new?
Well… a week ago or so Jan got a new letter from the hospital where he was supposed to get his operation on his finger at the start of last month… We were supposed to go back on the 10th… but the new letter says… come on the 21st instead…
*hangs head* How fucking hard is it to have a FINGER looked at and operated on?????
It’s all this swine flu thingie… such paranoia…
The whole things should have been handled better… I’ve already said this, I know…

Oh… I don’t know if anyone has head it…
But two Norwegian guys has been arrested in Congo for killing the driver of the car they were in.
According to their story the driver was shot by hidden attackers in the jungle… hard to prove, I know…
But the Congolese military thingie had them arrested, and the trial was done today…
They have been sentenced to death… for murder, attempted murder, weapons smuggling, espionage, conspiracy to create a league or something like that. If they did it I can understand murder… But attempted murder? On whom?
And why would the Norwegian government want to send out spies to spy on… what… exactly is there to spy on in Congo?
And they did say that they wanted to make a company thingie in Congo, for rich people to come down there and play war.. Like what we would do on a paintball rink, I would imagine…
Pictures of them was used in evidence against them… text messages they sent and received was used against them.
And to top it all of… the Congolese military thingie wants the Norwegian government to fork up 60 MILLION DOLLARS!!!!
IN DAMAGES!!!!! O.O
Of curse our foreign minister denounces all charges and the fact that they have been used by Norway to spy on Congo… again I ask.. What exactly is there to spy on? How their military operates??? I think, if it’s a big secret, they have told on themselves by now…
It has to be said that I had an feeling about how it would all end before the trial (MOCK TRIAL) started. I knew their sentence had been given even before they stepped inside the court room.

Other than that nothing major has happened.
I keep breathing and loving… the sun keeps shining, the world keeps turning and the universe keeps spinning. It’s all good…

I suffered so so so much today beating the eggs and sugar.. *sniffles*
But it was fun too… I didn’t actually expect it to be this nice… but then.. I havne’t tasted it yet, so…

Yeah, it’s delicious… ^_^

Mushrooms and elephants and more mushrooms… oh my…

Mood: BORED!
Listening to: Not by choice, the world thingie in Berlin… appearently it’s interesting to watch… *shrugs*

So yeah…
I’ve been busy. And bored… Even with Goliath bringing me many movies, I have been diligent and watched them all. So, I’ve been watching old Dr. Who episodes with commentary. It’s really interesting, actually. But, while listening to them, I’ve been sowing. You already know I made a hedgehog, and I was planing on making another hedgehog, but I decided I’d make something else. And since the felt was gray, I went with elephant.

Introducing: Retardaphant

As you can understand, I’m not happy with it. It has a nasty bump on its head… and it’s REALLY streamlines… I think it must be something like a Duphant or a Elegong… (Elephant/Dugong)

Just in case you were wondering… this is a Dugong… Probably related to the Manatee… unless they are the same animal… who cares?

But they are cute… And they are basically the same… the Dugong is smaller than the Manatee…
But I digress…
I basically did what I did with the hedgehog… sowed along the edge, cut it to shape and stuffed it…

I also made mushrooms…

I made the small one first, the one in front. I cut the stalk by eye… who needs mesurements?
then I made a circle for the buttom and the top. The same colour for the stalk as the bottum half, and for the top I just sowed tiny dots with white thread.
Same with the larger Amanita… the only difference is that the larger red part is glues on….
The brown one was more fun… I can’t remember what I did, but I did it and I’m really happy with it..
Kinda looks like a button mushroom.. ^_^

And while I was getting more felt for the mushrooms, I got more pins to put in my hedgehog pincusion…

Looks loads better XD

Anime Marathon and other things

Mood: Quite good…
Listening to: Oh.. hang on a minute… Yes, Barenaked ladies again… Still Big Bang Theory theme ^_^

What can I say? I really love this series.
If you don’t know what The Big Bang Theory is… it’s a tv show… about a girl (Penny) who moves into an apartment across from two.. erm.. geeks… Sheldon and Leonard. They are both experts in their field or something, so they are really brainy. Leonard is somewhat normal… and he falls in love with Penny… where as Sheldon seems to be a pod person. And if you told him that he’d take it as a compliment. Leonard and Sheldon has two friends, Howard and Raj. Howard considers himself a total playah.. where as close to every woman on earth disagree with him… and Raj.. poor Raj.. He’s brainy too, but he can’t bring himself to talk infront of women… well, he can, but only when he’s drinking.
But yeah… I so so so so recommend this show. It’s by far the funniest comedy series shown on tv of late.

And…
The other day I had an Anime Marathon. I think it was a sunday… Sundays are usually very slow days. And G hadn’t even updated a movie for me *snifflepuppyeyepleaseputmoremoviesup*couch**
Anyways… I had to pull out my arsenal of anime movies.
I started off with Ponyo… (Gake no ue no Ponyo) *SPOILER*
It’s really adorable… and about a mermaid/fish/jellyfish thing that breaks out of her fishtank under the sea where her father put her. Not under the sea.. well, that too.. but in the fishtank. He’s a water master wizard thing.. Ok, don’t blame me for the scetchy explanations. The Ponyo version I found online has REALLY bad english… So yeah.. she escapes and finds a boy named Sosuke… He catcher her in his bucket and takes her to school with him… so they bond and stuff.
The father of Ponyo wants her back, because he doesn’t want her to turn into a human, because all *they* do is polute the oceans. He manages to catch her again and locks her in a bubble down by the seaaa~~~~ I mean, under the sea…
she escapes again, but before she does unleaches watery hell…
Long story short, Ponyo and Sosuke meet up again.. they become friends, by this time Ponyo has become a little girl… Her father isn’t the only one with magic… There’s a huge storm and when it ends they go to find Sosuke’s mother, who left to check out some people in an old peoples home. Ponyo’s mother tells Ponyo’s father not to be such an ass and eventually things turn out great… Ponyo gets to become a human girl, and eventually Sosuke gets to marry a very hyper redheaded girl…

Second movie was Howl’s Moving Castle (Hauru no ugoku shiro) *SPOILER AGAIN*
I LOVE this movie. I don’t know why. From the first time I watched it I just loved it. The whole mix of the music, the nice flow of the moive, how Sofi struggles to come to turns with her “new identity”… and struggling with Hauru.
So… a girl in a town. She sees herself as a boring, “melt into the background” kinda girl, meets Hauru, the wizard who is said to eat pretty girls hearts. While out walking one day, two soilders start to hazzle her, and Hauru comes to her rescue. But Hauru is a wanted wizard and while being persued by black blob thingies, he whisks her away. After that she’s kinda on cloud nine.. She’s not worried about her heart being eaten by him, tho, because she doesn’t think of herself as pretty. Later that night “The Witch of the Waste” comes to see Sofi and puts a spell on her, making her old. She thinks that she can’t show herself like that and runs away, ending up in Hauru’s castle. The next morning, when the castle comes alive, so to speak, she introduces herself as the help, and everyone seems to be ok with that. Even Karushifâ (Calcifer), the fire demon who seems to have a very nice relationship to Hauru seems to be ok with her coming in there and almost killing him… unwittingly… So yeah… to make a long thing short…
Hauru and Sofi fall in love, and eventually, after some time traveling and stuff, they make people stop having a terrible war and move into the casle and live happily ever after.

Third one: My Neighbour Totoro (Tonari no Totoro) *SPOILER*
Again… I love the movie.. but in this one because I want a Totoro of my own… <3
Family move to a new house which is inhabited by soot spirits or something… they are truely adorable.
Later the youngest daughter find a secret passage to the natur spirit or something like that, Totoro… Huge, bear like.. huggleble… adorable.. cuddly… ME WANT!
Later her older sister sees him too… loads happen, the mother is ill, in hospital… littlest girl runs away, older one uses Totoro to find her… And they get on a Cat Buss… <3
Mother is OK.. everything is fine.. love the movie… see it.

Fourth; Spirited Away (Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi)
Family move to new place, take a wrong turn and end up on a dead end. Get out of the car and walk through an opening in a wall. Then they find a town, the parents sit down and starts to eat loads of food. Chihiro walks away and discovers a boy who tells her to go away. She runs back to her parents only to discover that they have turned into pigs. She runs away screaming, and as it’s getting darker spirits of various nature appear. She starts to dissapear, but the boy comes and gives her a beary or something. Then he smuggles her into the spa in town run by Yubaba, a terrible witch.
After alot of talk etc. Chihiro gets a new name by Yubaba, Sen, and gets a job at the spa. All this so that she can eventually find a way to make her parents not pigs.
Loads of things happen, all of them cool.. and she manages to get her parents back to normal… the end.

Yes, I know everything is UBER short, but I can’t be arsed to write a full movie review of them all..
I didn’t get to see Kiki’s Delivery Service… It’s an ok movie… It’s not my favorit…

And then to other things..
Jan got a letter last week from a doctor in Ski. He said that Jan had to come to have his thumb operted on today… not the day we got the letter, but today… August 18th..
So we went there… this is after we, two months ago, went to another doctor in Ski to have the finger looked at, to figure out what to do. He didn’t want to do anything with it…
Jan went into the doctors office today and the new bloody doctor didn’t want to do anything with it either! Another doctor… a propper cut ’em surgeon doctor looked at the thumb and said “You’d better come back September 10th… we need to get up full anestethic and stuff… ”
so yeah.. more waiting… UGH!

Anways…
Happy Birthday, mum…
Hope you had a lovely day.. Sorry I can’t be there… but you know how it is…. besides… you couldn’t have been able to fit everyone into your apartment again… not after the remodeling…

The Hedgehogs

Mood: Gooood…
Listening to: Barenaked Ladies – Big Bang Theory theme song… did I mention I’m hooked?

Yes, I’m making hedgehogs… like.. to put needles in when you sow…
I’m using felt… gray, light brown and brown… black beads for eyes and tiny black bead for nose. And some foam rubber for the base and under the top so the needles stay… I don’t know if I’ll use it under the top yet. I bought it just in case, really. I’ll have to figure out how dense the hedgehog will be when I start stuffing it.

I started up by cutting the gray foam rubber thing into egg like shapes… kinda… like free handed…
and then I started messing things up and cut the felt free handed into one long wide strip for the body of the hedgehog.
I haven’t sown it together yet because, seeing as I think I have messed up, I need to think on how to do his nose.
I think I know how to do it, but I need to wait for the glue to dry. I used a universal glue.. I could have used a fabric glue, but I don’t have that, and the wood glue was glues shut and I couldn’t open it, so the only other glue I could use was universal.
So… now I’m waiting for the glue to dry. I’ll update when I get pictures and going again on the fabrication of the animal.

This is how the hedgehog, the first one, turned out. Even thought I fucked up, I am very happy with him… her… it…
I haven’t stared on the other one yet, but I will… Thinking about maybe making it a little smaller…
But for now it’s ok. I have, at least, one hedgehog…  Go me…

Oh right…
First I glued the foam rubber thing to the felt and waited for it to dry. Then I started sowing the nose… and when I figured out “That will never look like a hedgehog like that” I cut it to shape. Then I attached the eyes and nose.
After that I cut out the brown felt. I wanted it round, and it got round, and a little small. Trying very hard to make the round shape fit a not round shape I struggled quite a bit. But then I remembered something my mother did when I visited her, when we were making throw pillows for her couch. We made a long round one.. like cylindrical shaped, and the end pieces were so hard to fit. So she used the showing mashine and sowed a single, far spaced line around and then another, slighly on the inside of that… she held the under thread fast, and started to pull on the top line, and the fabric started to scrunchy up. That’s what I did with my hedgie. But of course you should use a BROWN THREAD!!! which I didn’t do. I used white, and I had to removed them afterwards, and it looks kinda corney now.
But yeah… not too bad for my first time. And I can only get better, right?

My Birthday

Mood: Very good
Listening to: Barenaked Ladies – Big Bang Theory theme song =D

Yes, it’s my birthday, and I’m turning 32. Honestly.. that’s no age….
Although, one does wish one had accomplished a little more than what one has, but I’m totally not complaining. I’m happy with where I am. I like myself as a person.
So… thus far in my birthday we, Jan and I, have been at the car dealership to have our car serviced. And while it was having its manicure and pedicure, we went to the closest mall and hung out there for a while… and then we moved to the other “mall” and hung out there for a while… and then to the electricstore. I was thinking about getting yet another portable disc (externat harddisc). I need it if I’m gonna download all of “The Big Bang Theory”
Or I can see if I have room on the other external I have… the one without power…
Or I can put some stuff I hardly ever watch on the old one, like Dexter and some movies, and then download BBT…
So yeah… I’ve really fallen for that series. I’m watching it online, but of course they don’t have all of them, so I’m missing practically all of season one.

As for the scarf…. I’m sorry, Tom Baker… I’m afraid it’ll take forever for me to finish it.
I heard my mother laugh about it behind my back, so I’m in no hurry to finish it.
And I still have my panda jacket hoodie… and I just know she’ll laugh at that too…

Anyways… I have to make dinner… mmm… pita bread tacos… ^_^
Nooom…

I’ve been on my holidays…

Mood: rested, somewhat…
Listening to: the sound of my broken heart…. holiday all gone…

Well…
I’m sure I’ll get another long weekend or something, but for now it’s all gone…
I had four days in my home town… We left here on tuesday and arrived late tuesday evening… Basically we had dinner and went to bed, pretty much…
Wedensday: Nothing major happened, really. We went grocery shopping, and a delicious dinner and that was about it.
Thursday: I finally got to go to the fabric store, where I was supposed to get my maniquin so that I could have fun making clothes and stuff… When I got there I decided I wouldn’t get it, but I did get all the fabric I need for my new project. My mothers bf left to go back to his place. He had to help his son with something. And my dad called and asked us if we wanted to go out with him to chinese restaurant… and of course we did. I had beef and broccoli… So amazingly delicous, and I am SO making it again… this time I’m going it right… After that we went to have some drinks, and I found my new favorit drink. Bacardi and coke…. We went home early, because my dad had work the next day… When we got home we decided to play 10.000 (dice game), and my brother made me magraritas… mmmmmm
Friday: We went downtown. There’s a shop there that has just about everything, and I wanted some none stick thingies for when I bake… and I got a new baking tin… and I got me bacardi…. small bottle…
We grilled dinner that day… it was SO delicous.. I made my nummy marinade…. I’ll post the recipe another time. Oh, and my mothers bf came back. That night we did basically nothing. And my laptop wouldn’t work with my mothers new router… wireless… and I got pissed off and went to bed early.
Saturday: I shopped everything I can’t get here. Or have a ard time finding… Like hot sauce, mascavado sugar, dark break and long white bread… and boyonne ham… and cherry coke…
And I drank the bacardi I got… and we had leftover dinner from the day before… and we played 10.000 again… and it was all good… fun ending to my holiday… well, almost… my mum did wake me up at 3.20am when she was loading the dishwasher… and I didn’t get back to sleep till 4am… got up again at 8am… and got home late..
I could have taken pictures, but I didn’t… nothing really to take pictures of.. so yeah…

That was my holiday… :3

Good to be home, tho.. *snuggles computer*

Chocolaty marshmallow rice puffies

I do really enjoy food.
There is nothing I enjoy more than to serve up a meal made with love.  And I enjoy eating it.
I’ll try to take a picture of all the things I make and post them… if only my image thingie would work, that is…
But I will get around to it.

So yes; my first recipe is Chocolaty Marshmallow Rice Puffies.
Kinda like Rice Crispy Treats, but made MY way… And it’s really hard to come by Rice Crispies here…

Get started:

Nobs of butter… like a few tablespoons…
4 cups of mini marshmallows
6 cups of puffy rice (here you can use rice crispies, if you want to….)
100 grams of chocolate. I used 27% cocoa in mine, you can use whatever you want to.

Do as follows:

Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the marshmallows. Wait till its all melted before adding the chocolate and wait again till the chocolate is melted before removing from heat and adding the puffy rice. Stir till everything is well coated and put it in a bread tin (I suggest that you put a little oil in the tin, spear it all over and then put some clingfilm over it and push it well into the corners. The oil will make the clingfilm stick better and it’ll be easier to get the puffies out). Let it cool before turning it out and cutting into squares.
If you want you can skip the whole putting the chocolate IN the mix and just coat the squares with the chocolate after you’ve squared them.

I hope you will enjoy them as much as I do.
